I would just like to say....Piss on Nvidia.
Also, "In the meantime, XFX’s answer to Nvidia’s cut-out deal is bringing the fastest ever Radeon HD 5970 X2 cards with super specs, and we will try to get as many details as we can."

XFX has the best deal on GPU's, u might pay 30 dollars more, but u get a lifetime warranty which if u damage it in overclocking it doesnt matter you can get a brand new one, thats Nvidias loss

"the fastest ever Radeon HD 5970 X2 cards"
Could someone please wake me up from the insane dream of seeing a quadruple GPU video card.... Seriously....
XFX wants to make a HD 5970 X2 card? A double 5970??? Is that possible?
Oh man.. 4x Crossfire of HD 5970 X2 system.. YESH!.. please lottery let me win this month!

Double lifetime warranties come with XFX cards iirc, which means it's transferable to a new owner if you decide to sell it secondhand.

lol I'm waiting to see if this 5970 X2 is a reality or if they have just mixed up some terminology somewhere.

This has to be a mixup... I mean from what I understand as I'm sure you'll correct me if I am wrong it is a two gpu card already (not dual core) so that is already pusing the limits of space, power, and heat. You would need two cards to do that. Check out Velocitymicro.com if you wanna see some of those configs. If I remember correctly they are selling I7 980x's with two 5970's in crossfire. Now that is a pc for a power company employee if I ever saw one.

True natron,
but do remember the RV 870 chip runs way cooler then the Fermi 100. They want to make a dual gpu card out of that which would mean 2x a water boiling chip that already can barely be cooled enough (it reaches 94 celsius) when using just one..
I don't want to see how big this card would be, but until the first dual GPU nobody thought that was practical either..
