the only catch is that you need the newest ati to do it. each card supports up to six monitors ;)

imagine tf2 on six monitors with a modified FOV to 360 degrees ;) no spy could ever sneak up on you !! haha

If it supports 360 FOV all you have to do is cheat the app into having a single monitor for front facing and have a second monitor handle just the back. That way front/back are side by side.

ya that could work too....but you can't show that off as much as having 6 monitors in front of you ;)

p.s. I still hate captchas...:)..clicking submit like 4 times wondering why the post won't go through....grrrrrr

I'm planning on getting a new video card next year (likely a 5850 since it'll fit in my case). I really don't see myself doing the entire triple monitor gaming as it really isn't something I've liked because of the bezel. Though I do have uncles that play flight sims and this is certainly something they'd love as they do actually have 6 monitor setups and having a single card run all six at one time is nice. However, with >2 monitor gaming, you have to utilize the displayport port. DVI monitors will work with a converter but it has to be an active converter, which is expensive ($100) and needs to be powered (usually by USB).

I'm looking forward to curved monitor technologies though it seems be limited at the moment and still have a noticable line between where each screen ends.

if you are paying for 6 nice monitors, i dont think the extra $100 is really much of a biggie :)

flexible LED displays on their way http://news.cnet.com/8301-11386_3-10314889-76.html

I have been looking forward to it for a while too, just it's going to cost a pretty penny when they finally do adapt it to the size and resolution detail of a full sized monitor.

I wasn't thinking about AMOLEDs when you brought that up, but that is a good point and something to look forward to. I use a Cowon S9 as a music play and it uses a AMOLED display, which is very good. Problem is that the current market for them is in smaller displays. Sony has a 13" TV currently albeit expensive and exclusively sold. Samsung is looking to make larger TVs in the coming years. Still, we probably won't see these in mass quantities for years and probably not on par in price with LCDs for about a decade.

I was looking more towards a monitor like this, which is DLP based:
