I tried to connect to 3 or 4 servers and every time it would load the map and lock up my entire pc before I could spawn. The reset button is the only way out. I searched and it seems like a common problem. It's just funny because it played perfectly the first time I ran it for an hour or so but now it crashes every time.

I think DICE was supposed to put out a day 1 patch to address some of the issues discovered late in the beta. (I don't think the patch ever came)

this is the info related to many bugs including random crashes as provided by gameservers.com, our provider for our BC2 server: 1. Players being randomly kicked and server crashes

We have seen cases where a server randomly kicks a player for an unknown reason. We have sent logs to EA/Dice to try and find the root cause of the problem. Restarting the server has shown to help

This has been confirmed as a bug that is currently being worked on by EA/Dice. This issue is happening on all Ranked server providers. We we are all hoping to see a fix come in within the next day or two.

2. Configuration editing

There has been reports that the config editors are not properly saving the settings. We have this assigned as a bug and are working towards a resolutions. This is currently affecting a subset of servers.

3. Servers not showing up on the browser

We are getting reports and witnessing issues with servers not showing up in the in-game browser. It seems that the in-game browser is not picking up all of the servers from the master when listing showing the output. Hitting the refresh key will often times display a different set of servers on the list. It appears to be a fix needed to be done by Dice/EA

4. Favorites not working

It does appear that Favorites are not working correctly yet.

5. Higher than normal ping times

The ping times seen on the in-game browser is listing pings higher than what it really is. This is still under investigation.

I went home at lunch and managed to play through a few rounds with no problems.
The only thing I did last night was update to the 10.2 Radeon drivers.

oh Radeon released new drivers, maybe thats why my multiplayer isnt working. I managed to get on for 30 seconds and then was kicked

I think they were released about 2 weeks ago. I have no idea if it helped anything or not...but I WAS able to play today after crashing all last night.

nvidia just released a new massive driver update yesterday with this in their release notes:

Adds SLI and multi-GPU support for top new gaming titles including Assassin Creed II, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Command and Conquer 4: Tiberium Twilight, Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes from Liberty City, Mass Effect 2, Napoleon: Total War, and Zombie Driver.

epic. guess who is going to max out the game now :D :D
that's why I was feeling so sluggish yesterday and through the beta. only 1 of my GTX260s was being used with the other just sitting idle :(

heres the quick fix until they do something about it, seems like the retards over at EA and DICE decided to put their game on ports that no one uses, which means that they probably ported the game from Xbox, all i gotta say is fucking retards, anyways heres the fix to the problem until they change the allowed ports

Well I've fixed my crashing and looping sound. It was my onboard audio. I have disabled it and installed my old sound card and haven't crashed since.

This is like BF2 all over again! When that game came out it was buggy as shit, the servers never worked, the rankings never registered and even if your computer was so good that even Bill Gates was impressed it still didn't run well! EA/Dice promised they'd fix it but they decided to fuck off and make expansion packs. I hope they actually fix everything, because it's been more than frustrating.

some recent news from DICE on the server problems:

After optimizations and restarts yesterday, we had been stable across all platforms. Unfortunately, we encountered another outage at approximately 9:30 AM PST today.

- X360 was severely impacted, and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely.
- PC had an outage, but the service is offline currently and the service is being restarted. It should be back online and we are monitoring closely. We will then start checking the quality of the customer experience to determine possible next steps.
- PS3 appeared to have a brief outage, but has quickly recovered and the services is functioning properly at this time.

All teams are actively engaged in diagnosis and remediation. We are adding additional services to alleviate load. Despite having a major infrastructure in place, the peak traffic this weekend has been huge, 400% higher than any other Battlefield's peak simultaneous users. The teams will continue to monitor the services closely. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and will provide further updates on the latest developments as they are relevant.

400% more load at a single time than any other battlefield game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and this is only in its first weekend. not only that, but alot of players just put the game back down because of all the problems it's been having. imagine if the game ran fine and everyone played at the same time....OMG :D

lol ya. and not only are they trying to fix the problem, they are very vocal about it. unlike infinity ward with MW2, DICE/EA is always putting out forum posts on numerous forums (EA, DICE, Steam, etc), tweets, announcements on their sites about what is going on currently with the issues.

I've only found a couple threads where they have talked about some issues.
Do you have some links for some of those that you've seen? I would like to keep up with it.
