Has anyone figured out how to override refreshrate in windows 7 64bit. I have searched and searched and tried a few things no luck.. Thought I would see if anyone has. Most probably have LCD screens so don't need to.

I would think that windows would display the option to you if the device/driver told it to. Specifically it's resolutions and respective refresh rates.

I'm capped at 60Hz because LCD but where I would increase it if I had a CRT would be:

Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display > Adjust Resolution (Screen Resolution)
...click Advanced settings. The refresh rate is on the Monitor tab.

Thats my problem only xp drivers for the monitor I can find. There aren't any other drivers old monitor. Plus windows 7 if you uncheck the hide unsafe modes of refresh rate it will only go to 85hz I think.. maybe only 75hz can't remember. Which if I can go 85hz then I will have to.. But I like 100hz the best everything played really smooth at that setting with 100fps.. I guess I will have to search on ways to edit the driver files to work in 64bit windows 7

If you're running on LCD chances of 100hz is slim.

Nope CRT already had it running at 100hz in xp with the drivers and on plug n play drivers.

Yeah it just sounds like a compatibility/driver issue.

If you have an extra DVI cable (if your crt uses DVI) you could try this fix. It involves removing two pins from the cable to disable the EDID info from your monitor. Originally for vista, but should work in 7 as well.

I had to reprogram my display's EDID because it wasn't telling windows it could run at 1080p/60Hz.
