So, right now I'm tired and pissed. I bought this game on steam and predownloaded it the other day before I went to work. Well away for 48 hours I got home and was eager to get going.
So I un-encrypted it though steam and set about trying to go too it...well steam said it was starting it up. The window disappeared, I got a pointer with a hourglass next to it...the hour glass went away after a few seconds, then my computer freezes. I can't move the mouse, no buttons work, can't ctrl+Alt+Del either.
So I look this up and read about nVidia PhysX problems. Soooo I uninstall the physX drivers, and reinstall the newest drivers for the graphics and physX drivers. ...boom same exact result. computer freezes and unable to do anything.
I turn off the physx drivers, and uninstall them, try starting up the computer goes though the start up process for the game BUT after the hourglass goes away I get an error about needing PhysX.....
I've heard tails that people with the CD version can just install the PhysX from the DVD and that solved their problems with PhysX. However, I've not been able to locate such things in steam folders.
Any help?
EDIT
Oh yea I'm using Windows XP SP3
Nvidia 8800GTS cards
