That today for Martin Luther King day BLU and RED can coexist peacefully. So at some point tonight i, Martin Luther Rodger, will be holding a peaceful demonstration of sandvich consumption.
If you are in the server at the time of the rally i ask for your support and that you join with and encourage others to stand proudly and eat.
Sincerely,
Martin Luther Rodger!

I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.
Five scoreboards ago, a great |Ex|Member, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, logged onto the TF2 Server. This momentous action came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of n00b spammers who had been seared in the flames of WM1ers. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their pwnage.
But several updates later, the Demoman still is decried as OP. Several updates later, the life of the n00b is still sadly crippled by the manacles of Ubered Heavies and the chains of No spy-checking teammates. Several updates later, the n00b lives on a lonely island of suckage in the midst of a vast ocean of pwnage. Several updates later, the n00b is still languishing in the corners of TF2 society and finds himself an exile in his own land. So we have come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.
In a sense we have come to the |Ex| Forum to cash a check. When the architects of our server wrote the magnificent words of the MOTD and the Server's welcome page, they were signing a promissory note to which every |Ex| Member was to fall heir. This note was a promise that all men, yes, n00bs as well as pr0s, would be guaranteed the unalienable rights of health packs, ammo boxes, and the pursuit of intel.
It is obvious today that Valve has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her n00bs are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, Valve has given the n00bs a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds." But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this server. So we have come to cash this check — a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind Valve of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of Meet the Pyro. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of stacked teams to the sunlit path of !votescramble. Now is the time to lift our server from the quick sands of HAX to the solid rock of Awesomeness. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of RED and BLU.
It would be fatal for the server to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the n00b's legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Two-thousand ten is not an end, but a beginning. Those who hope that the n00b needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the server returns to business as usual. There will be neither rest nor tranquility in |Ex| until the n00b is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.
But there is something that I must say to my people who stand on the warm threshold which leads into the palace of justice. In the process of gaining our rightful place we must not be guilty of wrongful deeds. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.
We must forever conduct our struggle on the high plane of dignity and discipline. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into random spamming. Again and again we must rise to the majestic heights of meeting crockets with airblast. The marvelous new militancy which has engulfed the n00b community must not lead us to a distrust of all pr0s, for many of our pr0 brothers, as evidenced by their presence here today, have come to realize that their destiny is tied up with our destiny. They have come to realize that their freedom is inextricably bound to our freedom. We cannot walk alone.
As we walk, we must make the pledge that we shall always march ahead. We cannot turn back. There are those who are asking the devotees of Engy update, "When will you be satisfied?" We can never be satisfied as long as the n00b is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of spawn camping. We can never be satisfied, as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain ammo from the dispensers of the engies and the healz of the medics. We cannot be satisfied as long as the n00b's basic mobility is from a smaller sniper's nest to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their selfhood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating "For pr0s Only". We cannot be satisfied as long as a noob in Dustbowl cannot cap a point and a n00b in Gravel Pit believes he has nothing for which to cap a point. No, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like a mighty stream.
I am not unmindful that some of you have come here out of great trials and tribulations. Some of you have come fresh from narrow jail cells. Some of you have come from areas where your quest for freedom left you battered by the storms of persecution and staggered by the winds of spawn camping. You have been the veterans of creative suffering. Continue to work with the faith that unearned suffering is redemptive.
Go back to Deadwood, go back to Pipeline, go back to Hoodoo, go back to Fastlane, go back to Badwater, go back to the engy dens and sniper nests of our KOTH maps, knowing that somehow this situation can and will be changed. Let us not wallow in the valley of despair.
I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the |Ex| dream.
I have a dream that one day this server will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Badlands the sons of former n00bs and the sons of former n00b pwners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.
I have a dream that one day even the map of Deathbowl, a map sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of spam, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.
I have a dream that my four little-played classes will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their uniform but by the content of their character.
I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day, down in Hoodoo, with its vicious bottlenecks, with its cart having its wheels greased with the words of uber and nemesis; one day right there in Hoodoo, little n00b boys and n00b girls will be able to join hands with little pr0 boys and pr0 girls as sisters and brothers.
I have a dream today.
I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.
This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the CP Maps with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our server into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.
This will be the day when all of God's children will be able to sing with a new meaning, "My country, 'tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountainside, let freedom ring."
And if |Ex| is to be a great server this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious spires of Badlands. Let freedom ring from the mighty battlements of 2fort. Let freedom ring from the train whistle of Well!
Let freedom ring from the one way door right after the spawn in Beerbowl!
Let freedom ring from the Roof in Badwater!
But not only that; let freedom ring the attic in Gold Rush!
Let freedom ring from the Laser Gun in Gravel Pit!
Let freedom ring from every vent and shipping container in Turbine. From every Sentry gun, let freedom ring.
And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every dispenser and every resupply cabinet, from every map and every control point, we will be able to speed up that day when all of Valve's classes, n00bs and pr0s, Demos and Sollies, Spies and Snipers, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, "Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"
Well, THAT was a lunch hour well spent.
Also, I imagine anyone reading this knows this about me, but it's a joke, don't get uptight about it.

i realized shortly afterward that I could've easily used RED and BLU for Dr. King's use of blacks and whites. Oh well, c'est la vie.

I thought I took my screen shots than I did, but I only had one in my steamapps folder... haarp was the only round I was around for on MLKD.
The second was from like a week or so ago where I guess we held the practice peace rally.
awesome stuff. We had quite a few people doing it in Haarp, i think everyone but like 3 people and there were 11 or 12 people to a side.

So I'm not sure how to thumbnail this, but I think it should be small enough to not resize anything. Anyway, this is a shot from the badwater peace rally. I don't think it got everyone present, but I'm quite happy with the timing. Definitely feels like it captured the moment, though I wish I could've gotten a point with more blu/red interspersion.

Didn't the division of labor achievement require you to kill 20 enemies?
And back on topic, that's pretty funny lol
