Anyone else interested in this game? I tried the beta but it seems you need to get to level 10 before you can try the 256 player game modes. But other than that the beta is pretty fun, I like the size of the maps, although I wish the community was better, theres a med pack to revive people and NOBODY uses it.

If you wanna play the beta sometime or the real game when it comes out, my PSN is Bonemasher.

I'm not interested in it. everything in that game had to be made sub-par to accommodate for the amount of players in a game at the same time. textures, particles, animations, models, all took a hit. I see MAG as a "look at what's possible" game. Much like Crysis was just a game to show off the the CryTech engine, MAG is just a game to show off the tech allowing 256 players to be playing "separate" games all in one area. The big draw to that game is 256 players. If you just described the rest of the game without 256 players, everyone wouldn't care about it because it's just like any other war strategy game like Tom Clancy's End War. MAG had to be snuck in between MW2 and BC2. There is no way it could directly compete with either game. just my $0.02

and yes, I tell it like it is :D (that and I'm not a big Sony fan ahah)

I agree that without the 256 players it wouldnt be as fun, but how fun would tf2 be without 9 classes? Or how fun would mario kart be without items to throw at each other.

A game can easily survive on a gimmick.

Plus I don't really care too much about graphics, but I think they did a good job, when I first heard about the game I seriiously thought it would have to be sprite based to have so many characters running around.

ya I know what you're saying.
but imagine having a sprite-based next-gen shooter!!! ahah wow that's a pretty unique idea right there. have these super elaborate, high-res worlds with sprites running around. reminds me of something ;) (http://kotaku.com/5449844/a-first-look-at-nba-jam-for-the-wii) 3d bodies and court with sprite-based heads!!! haha
nba jam for wii is gonna rock lol

Ahahaha, I got NBA Jam for the SNES. Loved the Dunk token.

On topic: I played it for a while, I was one of the first beta testers. Played it for a while, really loved it...then it got boring. All the armies were very similar, too many bad players, too many bad leaders, being a medic didn't work out because too many people bled out instantly, and a bunch of other things. I did like it, but it started to be a bit generic to me. I liked the concept, but it wasn't fun unless you were company/platoon/squad (I think those were the types) leader. Also, it sucked when you took a really long time to run from your faroff spawn if your bunker was destroyed, only to get sniped and have to wait 10-20 seconds to possibly do it again.I went medic/sniper/leader. It worked decently, but sniping was a bit iffy.
