Logitech G5 and Logitech G9 are the two I've used and loved. Depending on your preference. Go to best buy and feel some up.

mmm, g9 is nice, but not my style.
me=nolove for logitech =P
Im a razer kinda guy, I like my mamba.. wired, not wireless.
DPI... is dots per inch.. or, the number of steps the mouse will report when it moves one inch.. higher the DPI the more "sensitive" the mouse will be.. like the mamba has 5600 DPI while the G9 has a low (but really actually average =P) DPI of 3200.
Most will also point out the use of a DPI up at 5600 isnt needed, but I for one do use it =)
Also the razer Lachesis is a mouse id suggest. but once again, it is your preference, so do go to bestbuy and feel out what they have there.. (logi products but if you must =P)

All sorts of people love Razer, but I really hate how long and thin they are. I like them stubby and thick with modular weights and skins.

I love razor perfect fit for me.. But I hate the fact that I have broken the left button on 2 different ones. Maybe I am pressing to hard or something. I gave up spending money on a mouse.. I now just buy a cheapo USB optical and make sure I can adjust my usb polling to 1000mhz and I have done fine with that for the last year.

Logitech holds up over the years very well, much better than anything else I have tried. Not their cheapies of course but their quality gaming mice.
If you are into MMO's then try that Razer with 12 thumb buttons, lol!

I had the Microsoft HABU (which is basically a rebranded Razer) and my right click went out after about a year of use. I'll never own another Razer product. However, I have had my G5 for almost a year and not one problem. And I know Stew has had his for a while and likes it. Probably going to stick with my Logitech for a while.

I've had the same MX518 for about probably about 5 years now.
Cosmetically it is showing its age. It looks like my palm has eroded away part of the metal logitech logo :)
Never had a problem in all that time. I don't expect too anytime soon, but if I do have a problem I am probably going to go for the G500.
I didn't realize that many people dealt with mice breaking very often.
If your worried it looks like the new logitech mice come with a 3 year warranty

Logitech style and razor style tend to be personal preference.
I personally don't like how thin and light the razor mice are, but many people don't like playing with logitech mice because they felt like they are playing with a dead squirrel

Ive been Using my G9 for a couple years now. Works perfectly.
Your could also look at trying the New Roccat gaming stuff. Never tried the mouse but i have one of their mouse pads and its awesome.

please don't go to best buy unless you enjoy paying an extra flat 20%. go to a fry's or order from newegg so you don't have to bend over for them.

Heh the best mouse out there unless you like all sorts of buttons for me was the g3 but pretty hard to find them anymore since they discontined it. I'm more of a keyboard guy for the buttons but I must be alone in that. The razor is more my style now but the price for me is a bit prohibitive

Guys... a mouse... really?
I thought everyone had jumped on the Joystick Bandwagon by now:

You're not getting the TF2 experience that Valve had intended without one!

Of course I'm joking... I got the Logitech G9. No complaints. You can usually find pretty good sales online if you look hard enough.
IMO: Logitech FTW

I've got the Logitech G5 and I love it! Best mouse I've used and it's pretty perfect for even how I hold my mouse, where I want a higher arch. Otherwise, if you like a flatter mouse, the G9 is pretty much the way to go.

Another vote for the G9 here. Love mine. If not, stay with Logitech.

I have a microsoft laser mouse and its pretty good, except for the mousewheel, games seem to hate it. Like valve games for example, if you set the mousewheel to change your weapons it'll fly through them way to fast.

Razer Deathadder. You'll never want to touch anything else again. I had an MX518 (by logitech) before and i was not satisfied by its quality at all.
