Shacknews got a response from Valve's Robin Walker who tells them the messages are legit and that "there's something about the way they're used in-game that's meaningful." Whatever that might be, Walker isn't saying but he did state, "So far, we haven't seen anyone on the various forums out there who's figured it out

Personally...it sounds like they're going to finally add AI to the game.

On a side note, I had an icon similar to this ( http://i50.tinypic.com/33lzegw.jpg ) just today. I thought nothing of it as I joined a new group and assumed thats how it was related? o.0
as Robin has said, "it doesn't matter who said it, but who's listening." It seems everyone who has heard it was playing soldier. It could be hinting to a soldier update? Just a wild guess.

I heard some of the new voice clips yesterday on the server, when we were trying out some of the contest maps in the morning, but assumed that everyone heard them as well.

People on the Steam Forums have speculated that the new voice clips occur when playing a specific class, either the demo and solly. I recall I was playing solly when I heard one of the new voice clips.

Look at the ICON picture again.

Take a look at then special icons then take a look at the avatar of DSCrecon

His avatar is the picture beside those other people. no idea why, but that makes sense why the icons would appear bogus

its pretty well confirmed now that it's a combo demo/solider update (IMO)

Robin Walker had questionable items in his backpack today for both classes

Code suggests that if you're demo/solider you have a 10% chance to hear a unique voiceover.

There are a lot of post about it on steam, but it seems the tf2stats guy did it. I mean I cannot validate it at all but seems legit

lol. well the tf2stats guy is heavily tied in with valve since that tf2stats guy has to hide the weapons the valve devs are testing :D
could have just been from that. otherwise the devs wouldn't be able to test out anything because everyone would know what they are doing.
