Is it just me or do alot of people complain about luck in every game, and about every weapon possible. It annoys me alot. Like sure everything in life a little luck will help, but some people bug me when they act like one weapon in a game is "luckier" than another.
Lets face it, if you stink at a game, luck wont save you, at least not for long. So if someone is racking up the kills, chances are its not luck, at least not all of it.
The way I look at it, if you mean to do something, and it happens, then it can't be luck. Like it TF2, alot of people call huntsman kills luck related when they dodge into it, but most of the time when it happens for me, its because I've analyized their dodge pattern and shot so that he would dodge into it.
Anyways, thus completes my rant, discuss.

Luck for the huntsman is simple like You let an arrow out in the air, it flies across the level, then you get an head shot, completely not even knowing you did.
Above that, I totally agree for what you say.

Yeah but have you ever stopped to think that it was fired at head level, towards an area where tons of people are, then it was done on purpose. Its not diferent than spamming a room with grenades, or rockets.

Probably your right, I mean they shot arrow was intended to shoot to hopefully shoot a group of people without actually going to the area and find an enemy.

huntsman is complete and utter garbage (and everyone who knows me, knows I absolutely demise the damn thing). I don't even mind the fact that you can shoot it, and just run away (like the soldier with his rocket) but what REALLY pisses me off is how it has such a rediculus hitbox area. go check out countless videos on youtube about the hitboxes. here is one to show what is acceptable as hits and even crits with it. YouTube- Huntsman vs. Rifle
I understand your arguement in any other subject area but the huntsman is BS. you can aim at someone sure, but if you aim right at them and they move out of the way of the arrow, they still get hit....now that's not right.
I was pretty sick redic at CS and many ppl claimed I was the luckiest person ever (even a hacker most of the time) but everything I did I could reproduce time and time again. I think factors like your hardware components and configuration played a huge roll in what you are able to do within game and what you percieve others as capable of doing.

Umm the hitboxes are no diferent for any other weapon, valve has always had terrible hotboxes. Shoot a rocket at a running scout and you will hit air and kill him. Hasnt anyone seen the CSS vid where people get shot before they enter a room? Thats still in TF2 you know.
The rifle is the same in the vid.
What do you think a facestab is? The player is turning but it counts as if he hasnt turned yet, so the hitbox is his back when he is faceing you.
Don't complain about 1 weapon when its the whole game.

no. facestabs are a result of lag compensation. soldiers rockets have splash damage so they cause damage to a larger area than what they actually hit. the huntsman is all messed up. you know it, I know it, all of EX knows it, valve knows it. you just watch, valve will fix it one day in one of the future updates.

Quick note.. Facestabs..
These can happen with both people facing each other.. running in the same direction, while facing each other, and then aiming at the leading shoulder with the knife. It will "facestab"
And that today concludes .bot.'s lesson on how to facestab without the lag comp =P

I don't mean splash damage, I mean the rocket will explode because it hits the scout even though you can visually see it didnt hit him. I think the fact that there is splash damage, blinds people to it.
Heck I rarely play heavy because you need to shoot 4 feet in front of scouts just to hit them.
The day valve fixes 1 weapon for a problem in the entire game, is the day I stop playing Tf2. CounterStrike Source has had this problem for years now, they have no plans to fix it.

Actually, luck plays a big roll in just about everything. Now I won't go around and use that as an excuse for being bad or good. Nor will I complain, or call someone out for it. *at least in game. I keep that cursing confined to RL* I often play MW2 and take cover as I approach a door hoping to catch someone off their guard, only to randomly decide I should get up an move now just in time to get caught by someone rounding the corner at the same time. Its just dumb luck, another second longer or second less and I would have been the one surprising them! Thats life.
There is an old sword fighter's quote that goes "Better lucky than, good!" Meaning I would rather get lucky and win, then be good and dead.
Either way, complaining you died due to dumb luck is a good sign of someone who sucks. This typically goes the same for lag complaints.
All games have it...its just part of playing GAMES!
