at the start of the game, you have to go through a training course to determine the difficulty level you should play the game at.

sgt. shepard is there at the training course to watch you run it. and if you played through the whole game, you'd find out that shepard is a double-crossing, backstabbing, evil mofo. so in order to 'skip' playing the whole game, just kill shepard there right at the beginning :D

it doesn't exactly work...it's just supposed to be funny since you know that shepard is going to trick you at the end of the game so to prevent everything in the story from taking place, you can 'kill' him at the start.

:D would be funny to someone who actually beat the whole game.
