How To Skip Intro Movies

IMO, this is worth Stickying :)

I'm tired of playing Valve games for the past 5 years and spamming Esc at launch to skip the Valve intro followed by Game Intro.

Thank god, Valve added some options to skip it.

To skip these (for ANY valve game

1. right click it from the Games tab, and select "Properties".

2. Select "General" tab if you aren't there already

3. Select "Set Launch Options..."

4. put "-novid" in the box (without the quotes of course)

I find these launch options for pretty much every game I play just because I hate siting through the damn intro vids

but the thing is, you still had to spend the time and processing power to load that video. the -novid completely skips it. thus saving you time. and some games like Borderlands has like 50minutes of intro vids

but then again i use that intro time to get some personal errands attended and called for.
