i filed a steam support thing. its probably them, and not some kind of sinister new virus, but still... i dont think i ever got this on the l4d2 demo.

I would blame the anitvirus program. I use avast and it hasnt found anything from steam.

I don't use any virus monitoring programs. don't do anything stupid and know what your doing online and you'll never get any viruses. Windows Defender is good enough for me :D
those antivirus programs are more of a burden then useful. they slow down your computer, block files you need and just aren't smart enough yet
