so i downloaded about 10 diff ones, but how do you install them, it just has the steam logo in the folder

I wish l4d2 just made it so you could download the maps when you join a server like on tf2

yeah, but l4d maps are pretty huge in comparison. few hundred MB instead of say 30-40 for 1 map.

Snix is partially right. if its only the .vpk file it goes in addons folder. if it has more they go in maps.
most of the mappers these days split them by folder now so you just drop them in and let it replace. have l4d2 closed while you do this or else when you get in game it'll be pink/black checkbox failure.
