This game comes out 2 months after Halo: Reach so I expect there to be ALOT of players ready to play this game.

well each studio took 2 years to make their game. they just released games in alternating years. so the community gets a new game every year and each studio gets plenty of time to make a new game. 2 years to make a FPS that is just built off an existing framework/engine is plenty of time.

I've seen lots of these trailers. They have been saying dedicated servers alot, but I fail to see how this will actually work well with what they are trying to put out.


With all the game modes, the only way to have a dedicated server is that the match making system will remain the same, but simply playing on servers the company(maybe indie) people have set up. However the lack of administration is going to lead to more hacking abuse again. The likely idea of a punkbuster in the game would be useful, and prevent the rampant cheating that goes on in MW2. However, again not being able to kick obvious hackers and forcing your into a loss when you leave the game is just stupid.

I do love me some CoD however, and will likely get it one way or another. I just wish they didn't fuck up Bad Company so much to make me not enjoy it. I am...hopeful about battlefield 3 however. I hope they fix all the crap they fucked up in BC2

it works the same way BC2 does now. you either buy servers that are for max compacity games like TDM or buy servers that do smaller games like S&D. I doubt there will be the option to have a server that can do both high capacity games then cut itself down to a small player count game...that would just be cruel to those players who have to sit out :D

also, yesterday Gamespot had a 1 hr long special with the lead designer for the multiplayer. it's 1 hr long but FULL of brand new info regarding things like how to unlock the pro perks, new multiplayer map, certain lvl requirements to unlock gear for purchase, can shoot down choppers that are going to unload carepackages, and many many more.

I like some of the changes they have made with Black Ops and I will be buying it assuming my friend who is getting it on Tuesday says it is good.

However, I don't really like kill-streak rewards (I am still getting over the grenade indicator they added in COD2) and I don't like them charging $15 for a map pack. So I won't be buying any of the map packs if they charge more than $1 per map. I am also weary of Treyarch, while WaW was fun it was also pretty buggy in the first few months, so we will see how Black Ops is.

to me black ops is nothing more than a map pack actually it`s the exact same game as modern warfare for 60.00$ i would expect some inovation, go play modern warfare and then play black ops , I ask which one of the two is better ? Everyone who is a CoD fan says this is the best CoD game since MW1. The most balanced weapons, abusive perks removed, off-the-spawn killing removed, spawns are more sporatic to help reduce spawn trapping, many new gameplay elements, recoild is back, quick scoping trashed, new animations, more in-game dialog between characters, sound whoring removed....Treyarch hit a homerun with this game.

( got a little carried way there lol) well they got me i`m such a fool.
PS one time i had a tooth pulled, looking at the female dental asssistant while i was getting tools in my mouth was a more enjoyable momment than playing this game which is now call of stupidness .

in BO, the high end killstreaks are powerful because well, they are hard to get (unless it's from a care package but the chance of getting a 9+ kill streak in those things are sooooo low). you are rewarded for all your hard work getting those kills.

In MW2, all you needed was a 5 kill streak, get your pred missile, that would get you pretty much 2 kills, which got you your harrier strike, which you could just let you get to 11 for the chopper gunner which could net you like 10 more kills. then get out from camping in your corner to get killed then repeat the process for 70+ kill games.

There's none of that in BO. every kill has to come from your gun. which helps stop camping for kill streaks. It's works really well too.

but this game isn't for every one. specially those who are into the BF-type games. It's a huge difference. I can see his point about why kill streaks are whack.

I completely agree. My point is that while killstraks can make a team get rolled pretty bad in BO, its nothing at all like MW2. I'm sure we have all been in a highrise game in MW2 where you couldnt even get out of spawn because of constant chopper gunner and ac130s pinning you down. Its also alot better that you cant daisy chain killstreaks together. In MW2 you got 7 kills and it turned it into a nuke.

the "memory leak" has supposedly been fixed.
not sure if it was a memory leak though.

some things I've found out:
--> seta r_multiGpu : set to 1 if you have multi GPUs
--> seta r_multithreaded_device : set to 1 if you have dual/quad/hex core
--> remove all .cfg files (config.cfg and config_mp.cfg) and let the game recreate them. this update made changes to the .cfg files

and friends tab finally works

Just played a HQ game Hardcore server freindly fire on final score time limit 160 to 160 good match first draw ever in HQ . The HQ mode when played hardcore FF on it makes for interesting stategies, can`t just run up in there and lob grenades on the point like there no tommorrow flashbang work great if you it some of your teammates well you dont kill them at least, also more mic use like grenade out on the point before you throw, let`s coordinated some type of rush offence. Try it out.

There are some servers that do HQ on Nuketown 24/7...OMG its a spamfest but super fun if you aren't looking for a serious game. Most people just toss nades and run in with shotguns blazin'

64 ping is bad? And yes, I used a pistol at point blank range, and got 3 headshot pings before he died.

SMG I shot him 3 times then the fourth round hit him in the head, still alive.
